I FEEL LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!
After a nice lazy weekend, I plugged back into the real world and booted up my computer. I was catching up on news and movies and the likes and caught a headline on Yahoo news--"How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days tops box office." A cold chill went down my spine and bead of nervous sweat creeped down my wrinkled forehead. "Surely not," I thought to myself, "no self-respecting person would go see that movie." Well they did, over $24 million dollars worth of people went to see this amazing piece of celluloid on its opening weekend. Absolutely dumbfounding!
This list was followed up with such searing hits as the brilliantly acted Shanghai Knights and the horrific Final Destination 2. True, I have seen none of these movies, nor will I ever if I continue to respect my artistic taste, but let me tell you one movie I did see--Gangs of New York. It was a brilliant, epic piece of cinema...but apparently most people in the god-forsaken country think that Maid In Manhatten was more worth their $7--a full 1/3 more people.
What kind of country do we live in and with what kind of people where Maid In Manhatten outgrosses Gangs of New York? I will tell you, a stupid country overrun with stupid people. I am going to go stick the largest object I can find down my throat now and puke in sad honor of Martin Scorcese and the beautiful art which he tries to bring the select few brilliant people in this world (like me!). Oh, and if you went to watch Maid In Manhatten and liked it, do me and the rest of the world a favor and cover yourself in raw meat and jump in the lion's den at your local zoo.
