Ok, my friend Jake has a shitty job where he lives in a cubicle and he sometimes gets bored. So the other day he decided to write the following e-mail and also posted below is the response he received.

To Whom it May Concern,
I would like to pass on to you a concern that I have with what I
experienced yesterday (01/02/03) while drinking your beverage.  First let me
begin by saying that I enjoy your product very much.  I drink a lot of
it.  about 2-3 times a month I will purchase a case (24) of the 12 oz
bottles in red, orange and lemon lime flavors from Sam's Club or Costco.
Yesterday, after my run, I went to open a bottle to drink.  Along the
rim of the bottle, just below the cap and seal, was a rough portion of
the plastic that extended out about an eighth of an inch or less.  When
applying pressure to loosen the cap, the palm of my hand came in
contact with the extended rough portion and it caused a very uncomfortable
cut to the palm of my hand.  This cut, much to my surprise, soon began to
bleed and continued to do so for a short while.  You can imagine my
surprise at this st! range situation that I found myself in.  Never would I
have immagined that opening a bottle of your product would caus!
e me to bleed.  I am quite concerned that there is no procedure in
place to guard against this type of anomoly to your packaging.  I also am
not thrilled about the prospect of having to check the side of the
bottle of gatorade everytime I go to open a new one, especially when I consider that I have succesfully opened hundreds of bottles of other drinks in the past.  In addition I feel confident that I will continue to be able to enjoy many different types of bottled beverages without a concern of injuring myself.  Unfortunately,
Gatorade is not one of these beverages in which I have confidence.  I
hope that you will do something to remedy this situation with any future
bottle deformities and also with myself as a dissatisfied consumer of
Gatoraid.

Sincerely,

Jake
