| CTY Acrostic Class isn't what you come for. Enter here to be and find a friend. Not your average summer camp. Talent show and lip synch rock! Everyone ready for mandatory fun? Run to meet your friends for lunch. Forever young, I want to be forever young. On top of the world while you're here. Rainbow Connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. Techies do it in the dark. Or the sound closet. Always remember. Leonard Bernstein! Each day is better than the last. Nobody's weird here. Or maybe everyone is. Teaching each other Tunak Tunak Tun. End of the world as we know it and I feel fine. Don't make me go home. I am home. Your friends here are your friends for a lifetime. Over state lines, we'll keep in touch somehow. Under the stars singing American Pie. The hills are alive and they're eating children. Homesick all year. |
| I wrote this in my big CTY poetry year: 2001. The year I really got into the feeling of it. At this point I was still learning from CTY--an ongoing process. But my CTY-inspired growth really took off in my second year. And it's pretty decent, for an acrostic. I think my poetry has improved some since then...but I do like the sentiment of these older pieces. |
