A Poem --- where art thou kevin?
Good night, Good night!
parting is
such sweet sorrow,
that i shall say
good night morrow.
sleep dwell
upon thine eyes,
so rest
as my ghostly father's,
help to crave,
my dear hap to cell.
fain fain, fain
"As subject to Time's love
or to Time's hate,
weeds among weeds,
or flowers with flowers gather'd.
builded far from accident;
under the blow
of thralled discontent,"
...what light through
yonder window breaks?
it is the
envious moon,
already sick
and pale with grief,
her vestal
livery sick
and green O,
it is your love!
that she knew!
what if her eyes
were there,
they in
her head?
as daylight
doth a lamp;
that birds
would sing
and think it
were not night.
wherefore art thou
Romeo-kevin?
deny and refuse ;
or,
if thou wilt not,
be but sworn ,
and I'll
no longer be.
shall I
speak at this?
with a cloak to
hide from sight;
thou love,
better ended by hate,
death prorogued,
wanting.
thou hast
heard me speak
to-night
fain fain, fain
deny compliment!
dost thou love?
I know
thou wilt
thou swear,
thou prove false;
at lovers'
perjuries O
pronounce faithfully:
quickly won,
frown and be
perverse so thou
wilt;
be strange.
i must confess,
that thou overheard
my true love's passion:
not impute this yielding
to the dark so discovered.
yonder blessed
the inconstant moon,
her circled
orb, thy love
prove variable.
fain fain, fain
shall I swear?
by thy gracious self,
have no joy to-night: rash,
unadvised, sudden;
like lightning,
bud of summer rest thy breast!
O,
wilt unsatisfied?
thou have to-night?
the exchange
of thy vow for mine.
request it:
and give again. f
or purpose?
fain fain, fain
i hear some noise within;
dear adieu!
anon,
good be true a little.
blessed, blessed night!
these Three words,
blessed, blessed night
throughout the world.
fain fain, fain
thou mean'st
not well,
to cease
my grief:
to thrive
my soul--
shall forget,
thee and
thy company.
like a poor
twisted-jealous
liberty.
fain fain, fain
good night, good night!
parting is such sweet sorrow,
that I shall say
good night morrow.
sleep dwell
upon thine eyes,
so rest
as my ghostly father's,
help to crave,
my dear hap
to cell.
