Courtney Thorne-Smith

Scorpio Spotlight
November 8, 1967

Courtney Thorne-Smith, who plays Alison Parker on Melrose Place, is a California native who really enjoys her TV role. Like many Scorpios, she is creative and is always looking for new ways to make her character seem more believable. Many fans agree that the romantic tension between Alison and Billy (played by sexy Andrew Shue) is the most exciting aspect of Melrose'sweekly plots.

Courtney is pleased that after 10 years as an actress, she has finally gained acceptance in a big way. But that doesn't mean she wants to be a "Hollywood star" in the middle of a media blitz--she lays low when it comes to the public, preferring to keep her priavte life to herself. (Right now, rumor has it that she's romantically involved with co-star Andy, although enither will confirm or deny the story.)

The stars show that TV movies and other opportunites will be coming Courtney's way in the year ahead. She's hoping to become a serious movie actress when Melrose has run its course, though the show will always have a place in her heart. Courtney fondly recalls that her big debut as a professional actress was in the 1986 movie Lucas with Corey Haim and Charlie Sheen. However, the fact that Courtney has ambitions beyond Melrose Place doesn't mean she's anxious for the series to end. Having a steady job when you're an actress is something rare!

Off the Melrose set, courtney spends most of her time at home and rarely shows up at Hollywood parties. She likes to stay in and cook or study her lines for the next day's shooting Like most Scorpios, she has a secret side to herself that no one gets to see--not even her love interest. Look for Courtney to get even more of the Melrose action in the new season--her career is just heating up!
