Slipping overnight from the role of Alison Parker on Melrose Place to Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Thorne-Smith sees the initial confusion from fans: "People still come up to me and say, 'Are you going to get carjacked or something like that?'" A native of the San Francisco Bay area, the 30-year-old actress is the sole regular cast member to have already experienced instant stardom, although she and her castmates haven't been engaged in serious chats about fame these days.
