The Park
I stopped by Shipley Field, just off U.S.1, on one of several visits to the area in the Spring of 2002. My interest was sparked by a picture on the website of another ballpark collector. I wasn�t disappointed. The columns surrounding the stands make this field stand out among the smaller fields I�ve seen. The concrete seats can�t be comfortable, but as Lee told me, bring a seat cushion. Unfortunately, the Terrapins were not playing on either of my trips. This would be a nice place to start a doubleheader � afternoon game here, night game in nearby Bowie. |
