The Park
I, for one, will be sorry to see the Phillies leave Veterans Stadium in 2004.  When the Phils move out and the Vet meets the wrecking ball, that will be the end of the concrete donuts that were built around the time I first started watching baseball.  Mike Schmidt in Philly.  Willie Stargell in Pittsburgh.  Johnny Bench in Cincinatti.  All homering against the Mets.  Well, maybe progress isnt so bad after all.

Im sure their new ballpark will be beautiful.  The Phils had their best years at the Vet, though, and I know there are those who will miss it.
The Games
1) Long ago, with my wife, some friends, and my infant son.

2) June 20, 1993, Fathers Day, with my wife, son, and infant daughter, vs. the Marlins.

3) May 3, 2002, with my two daughters, on a chilly evening, against the Colorado Rockies.  The Phillies took the lead in the 2nd, scoring on 4 walks by Rockies starter Shawn Chacon.  They added a run in the 4th, when Marlon Anderson scored all the way from 1st on a single by pitcher Brandon Duckworth.  Travis Lee homered in the 6th for the Phils.  The Phillies threatened in the 8th, loading the bases on 3 walks with no outs, but failed to score.  The Rockies put runs on the board in the 4th and 7th, but came up short, 3-2.  The hitting star for the Rockies was former Met Todd Zeile, who went 2 for 4.  Philadelphia closer Jose Mesa struck out the side in the 9th, but the last batter reached 1st because the pitch he missed was wild.  Fortunately for the Phils, the next batter flew out.
