Orlando, FL - Disney's Wide World of Sports Baseball Stadium
Outside.
Sunset.
From our seats.
Just a step to the ri-i-i-i-ight.
The Park
We (my wife, 3 kids and I) went to Disney World in August 2001, and worked an Orlando Rays game into our itinerary on the 22nd.  The stadium is at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex.  The ballparks mission-style architecture reminds one of Floridas past.  Before the game, we ate dinner at the All-Star Caf right outside.  With so many screens showing sports, my son was in heaven.  For you Mets fans, Gary Carters uniform, albeit one from his Expos days, is on display inside.

The ballpark was empty.  A local told me that that's not unusual.  People come to Orlando for reasons other than baseball, after all.

There is a play area for kids down the left field line.  In true big corporation fashion, you must complete a consent form before the kids can enter.  There is lawn seating in left, down the line in foul territory and in the outfield in fair territory.

That night, we saw a beautiful sunset.
That Day
The Rays, the Double A affililiate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, played the Greenville Braves and won 7-2.  In the Orlando 1st, Jorge Cantu and Steve Cox hit back-to-back homers (Cantu, a 2-run shot) to give the Rays all they would need.  Greenville scored their 2 runs in the 8th.  Eddie Perez, a catcher for the parent Atlanta Braves, started for Greenville.  He was recovering from some injury.  He batted 3rd, and went 2 for 3.
