: I
am a P-1 and took the 9 hr class on Feb 5th. Nine hrs a year is too
much. PS The moneys generated from this unfair law should be used for
license enforcement.( NO MORE MOONLIGHTERS) Then we can all make a
better living.
|
Answer:
Joe
, good point.
They can’t enforce the laws they have now. We don’t need any
more un-funded mandates

: The
State of
Massachusettes
will require continuing
education, but it will be every 3years! Every year is to much. Plus it
will be run by the state not by some private person.

Answer:
Dick
, I still contend there aren’t enough
changes in the code to require classroom instruction.
There are much more efficient ways to communicate

I am a P-1 and I can not remember the last time a house
exploded or someone die from bad water piping. Every town wants plumbing
done a different way. If local towns can override the code why waste
your money on the course and why do we need plumbing insp
|
Answer:
The special interest groups use scare tactics when trying to manipulate
the system. They were successful with the med gas issue.

anyone know how many states require continuing education for trades?

|
Answer:
Ralph
, I am not sure but I really don’t
care- Lets determine if we need a school first. Exactly what do they want to
teach us. Its our job to keep up
with code changes.

: Why
don’t the heating contractors have to take classes? Heating has more
of a tendency to be hazardous because of gas and oil and carbon
monoxide. Could it be because of big oil, most of which companies have
only journeyman working under a master license.
|
|
|
Answer:
That’s a mystery At the
March 5, 2002 meeting, Robert Huppelsberg stated ,”We would like to set up our
own educational-continuing education program for the plumbing and heating
industry” There is no more mention of heating after that.
