Dear Richard,
Thanks for your recent e mail replies to
my questions regarding continuing education. I hope I didn't
offend you. Richard, you mentioned your background was in the
electrical field. I've spoken with many electricians who have
explained various code changes and why the continuing education is so
important for their trade. As director of your department, I'm
sure you have issues with plumbers and therefore feel the need for
continuing education as well. I'm trying to get a better
understanding of where the major problems with our trade lies and
specifically where you think we need more education. Quite
frankly, there are not many code changes in plumbing that would
require the same amount of training as the electricians. Please advise
me of the specific areas you feel should be addressed. I intend
to testify at the March 8 public hearing and would like to work with
you to resolve this issue. Thanks for your time and efforts.
