Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 777
RE: Continuing Education
Dear Mr. Juliano,
The continuing education program adopted by the State Of Connecticut
has been the subject of much controversy and concern by many of the
8,000 licensed plumbers throughout the state. The General Law
Committee has agreed take another look at this requirement during a
public hearing tentatively scheduled March 8, 2005.
Special interest groups represented Local 777 at the public
hearing which originally discussed the continuing education issue.
They requested to submit a statement on behalf of Local 777 which
endorsed continuing education for plumbers and pipe fitters.
Unfortunately, the document he submitted is not included in the
transcript of the public hearing. (Read

Thanks to State Senator Thomas Colapietro, we will have an
opportunity to discuss continuing education once again.
Please advise me what the local's position is regarding
continuing education.
Most importantly, please advise the rank and file members of
local 777 they now have a chance to have their voices heard with
regard to a law that was passed without their input.
Should you wish to discuss this matter, please call me at
your earliest convenience. (860 4473903)
Sincerely,
Murray Renshaw
