Integrated Art...
I used "Star Office" to do this animation. The use of animations can easily be integrated into standard curriculum. This animation was done just for fun, but teachers can create theme-related animations or even animated diagrams to use for class presentations on overhead projectors.
This is an example of a twelve-year-olds animation done with "Star Office." Students can create their own animations to go along with units they are learning about. Students can then type their reports and insert their very own animations. These can be very impressive to play for parents during Open House!
During this project I played Louis Armstrongs, "What a Wonderful World" song. The first graders loved listening to this. As they painted, the words to the song came alive. In each picture you can see, "Leaves of green, a red rose, skies of blue, rainbows... It was a very positive and cultural experience for the children. They wanted me to put the CD on "Repeat" Forever.
This is an example of one of my Math lessons for 4th grade English Learning Students. I drew clothing on the white board with price tags for them to do their figuring with. The students responded well to the pictures and were enthusiastic about doing their math.
The little people above were created by first graders. They have yarn hair, unique t-shirts, and photographs of the children next to them.
Fifth Graders typed out their history reports and then created their own unique displays. The students were very creative in finding ways to illustrate their reports. During Open House the parents enjoyed walking around seeing the variety of models.
The 1st grade language arts project below was integrated with paper plate Spaghetti art. Each child had two paper meatballs that they had to think of rhymes for and past to yarn noodles. We had fun making up our own rhymes to sing with the song.
