My name is Cindy and I enjoy working with children. The purpose of my web site is to provide resources, ideas, and upcoming projects that teachers may have an interest in. It is my hope that teachers will find this site both useful and encouraging. The underlying theme of my site is Seize the Day! I know its easier said than done! Its hard sometimes to look past all those papers that need grading and that never-ending teacher to do list. Sometimes it is so easy to forget about the simple things in life that often end up meaning the most. Giving a spare moment, an extra smile, a listening ear, or even just a simple silent prayer could change the life of a child forever! I know this is true because of two extra special teachers who made a difference in my own life so many years ago. These were teachers who took time to look past the mundane and made an effort to seize each day! Mrs. Beavans, if you're out there, I just want to say thank you. If it werent for being in your fourth grade class at Grace Christian School, I wouldnt even be interested in being a teacher today. You gave that extra smile, rekindled my spirit and became a great source of inspiration that I still reflect upon often. Mrs. Seher, back in 1990 when I had you for business education at Quartz Hill High School, you shaped my future in tremendous ways! It wasnt the books, lectures or skills you taught that made such an impact on my life. It was because I wasnt just a number in your classroomI was a persona person you befriended. You shared more than knowledge You shared your heart. Thank you for being an example of what true teaching is all about! It is my hope that any teacher that happens upon this page will be encouraged to keep believing! Keep doing the little things that you think no one ever noticesbecause in truththose little things are noticed more than youll ever realize. No, you may not get an official thank you or become recognized as teacher of the year, but you are indeed touching lives forever. Remember to SEIZE THE DAY! --Cindy Townsend |
