TUDM ordered a total of 14 F-5E Tiger IIs and 2 F-5B in 1975. These aircraft were operated by then newly formed 12 Squadron in Butterworth. Among the standard avionics that came with the aircraft include the Litton LN-33 inertial navigation system, AN/ARN-84(V) TACAN, Magnavox AN/ARC-50 UHF radios as well as the AN/APX-72 IFF/SIF.
The RMAF F-5Es were delivered in overall NMF finishing, later, various camo scheme including 3 tone Gray and 3 tone Gray/Blue were applied to the Tigers.
This is 1/48 Monogram F-5E build with a marking of the TUDM's No 11 Squadron base at Butterworth AFB.
This model was build OOB, The camo chosen is 3 tone gray scheme that common to TUDM's F-5E in the 80's, I used Gunze Sangyo paint H315, H316, H308 and H307 for this project and the model is keep clean with minimal weathering, the Serial No. and Squadron's Tail art are from local production decal.The stancil marking decal are from the kit and the Roundel are from 1/48 Hobbycraft A-4C kit.
