Monserate 2003
The Church above is a Catholic Church at the top of a mountain. There are 3 ways up, walking, funicular and cable car. We went up on the funicular and came down on the cable car. The funicular is like a tram but the cars are made in to steps because the mountain is too steep for regular cars. The veiw was beautiful and the food was good. We went durring the week so it was very peaceful.
Above is a picture taken inside the church. That is Perry at the far end. I liked the way the arches looked, one after another. On the right is a picture of Perry and I outside one of the resturants. There was a fountain next to us but it didn't make it in the picture.
The statue of Jesus Christ on the right marks another church up the side the mountain. There is a different trail going up there. It is much smaller than Monserate. above: Check out the view of Bogota and the mountains in the back round. We left just on time to miss the rain.
There were lots of plants and beautiful gardens on the gounds. There was also alot of interesting buildings. I love the mission look. Below is a picture of one of the resturants. It looks like a beautiful house if you ask me.
Another picture of the view. Perry and I on the front step of the church and below is a picture of a garden that is placed at the bottom of the mountain by the cable car station.
