CREATIVE CONCEPT

This project is the extended production from my Research Specialisation project from the first semester. This time I will make a full length 15-30 minutes science fiction superhero movie, adapting some 3D and VDO editing programs to create the visual effect. This will be my first movie that will combine the live action and 3D animation togehter, and I hope to achieve in learning more of other techniques in using 3D effect like using particle, light and camera setting (but don't expect the hollywood production out of this project).

TARGET AUDIENCE AND THE REASON WHY I CHOSE TO MAKE THIS MOVIE

I aim to entertain the audiences, who are children, the people who love science fiction because I am also one of those who love to watch science fiction movie (especially the one that using 3D visual effect).

Because I am a fan of Japansese super hero show called "Ultraman" (created by Tsuburaya Chiyo production, more detail in Best practice page) I intend to express my appreciation towards this hero and therefore no commercial purpose involve within this project (this movie is not for sell).

I also hope that my movie will be part of my port folio work that I can use for applying myself into a job for movie or 3D industries, otherwise for some other universities where there are the 3D course available.

OUTLINE OF THE AREA OF RESEARCH

The kind of the research that I will take will be focusing the movement of the character to be as "believable as possible" (because I don't have Motion Capture equipment, it would be really difficult to make the 3D character's walk to be as close to the real life walk or movement). This could possibly be done by using DV camera. Other field in researching would be the use of 3D particle effect, and 3D light and camera.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

The equipment that I adopt will be my own PC computer, with the 3D program "Lightwave7" and the editing program like "Adobe Premiere 6" or "Ulead Media studio 6.5". I also need a digital camera and tripod for capturing the live action sequences and also a room for shooting blue or green screen effect.
