I start to work on putting the texture (which I have done through illustrator and photoshop) onto the charater "Alpha" in Lightwave 7.

2/8/2003

Life action shooting is proceeded, with some assistances from Jame Crook (as the camera man) and Greco Cheung (who play a character named Mina).

We start to shoot the film at 10:15 am till 12:00 pm. The locations were taken around Geelong beach (in front of Smorgy restaurant) and Geelong library.

The equipment that we used were a digital VDO camera, script and story boards, which I created them myself.

I acted as both director and the lead actor at the same time during the shooting of the movie. However, because the battery had ran out we have to shoot some scenes some other time.

3/8/2003

Start from 9:00 am in the morning, I start to put some textures onto the fighting jet and the alien spaceship. Although it is not a difficult task, it also took me a long time to locate each of the texture into the proper position.

NOTE: in the model section of Lightwave 7, while on the process of putting the texture, the model has to stay in the position where it was created. Otherwise, if it is being moved, the position of the texture will be relocated.

At Gordon Institute of TAFE, I used Ulead Media Studio 6.5 to transfer some of the scenes that we have shot last Saturday into the computer. All the clips have been compressed into AVI file (in Indeo 5.10 mode, it gives a better quality than cinepak). I realised that I may have shoot some of the scenes due to the blooper act that I have made.

The shooting for the life action will be possibly continued on Wednesday 5/8/2003

6/8/2003

The second day of shooting the life action sequences. Some scenes from last Saturday have to be re-shot due to some "blooper action" (eg I accidentally smile within a scene that it meant to be serious.)

Because Greco just want to finish playing her role, we eventually finished all the shot that involving her. However, some scenes (that involving me only) will be shot on next Wednesday, both outdoor and in photography studio in Gordon where we will use green screen to make a composite effect.

The scene that didn't work out that well. Shot on 2/8/2003. The fix up scene, where the suitable angle is selected. Shot 6/8/2003
An example of a "blooper" scene, in which a character "Mina" (played by Greco Cheunge) has to push me out of an explosive area (that I will add the effect later). It seems as if we both just simply running rather than jumping. So we have to do the reshoot on Wednesday 6/8/2003 by locate in different angle.
