This was the dinning room built-in hatch and cabinets viewed from living room. It's a decent size dinning room (~13'X11') with a large window (three sections with two on the side can be opened) to the right and kitchen to the left.
Dinning table base was made from my own plan with mahogany and hickory.
A better view of the table and chairs in dinning room. It was covered with white carpet. We refinished oak strip floor after removing the carpet. We used Jasco adhesive remover and it worked well. Just took a while to clean up and it smells. We used square sander instead of drum sander this time. It seemed worked just fine. The bare floor was then stained with colonial maple and three coats of MinWax semi-gloss clear polyurethane.
I hung some brass lanterns at the cross sections of the ceiling beams. It was pre-wired and controlled by a switch on the wall.
Finally, we had replaced the gold Home Depot style lights with this elegant Arts and Crafts style lights that match the house much better.
