To start the bot you MUST start Half-Life with the console enabled.
Create a shortcut to hl.exe, right click on it, select properties,
Select the "Shortcut" tab, and change the end of the "Target" field
from "hl.exe" to "hl.exe -console". After you changed this, click ok.
Also make sure that the "console" variable in your config.cfg is set
to "1.0".To do this, open up the file "config.cfg" which is located
in your \half-life\cstrike folder, search the file for a line that starts
with "console", and make sure the value behind it is "1.0". Start
half-life using the shortcut you made by double-clicking it.
In the Half-life menu enable the CounterStrike mod by clicking
"Custom Game",selecting the CounterStrike mod and clicking
"Activate".Then start a Multiplayer LAN server by clicking
"Play CS", then "LAN Games" and finally "Create Game". In the
Create Game screen select de_dust, from the map-list (these are the
only supported maps). In the "Max Players" field enter the maximum
number of players you want to play the map with.
When you have selected the map and maxplayers, click ok to start
the game. Once you are in the game, select your team and model.
After this you can add bots to the game. The max. bots will be
automatic join into the games .If you want to play with many bots on
one team, and none on the other, make sure the "mp_autoteambalance"
variable is set to 0 to disable counterstrike from transfering bots from the
full to the empty team. You set this variable by typing
"mp_autoteambalance 0" in the console.
