For instance, what type of character would eat in a chi chi upscale restaurant? What would she order? What if the only restaurant she's ever been in has been the drive-thru window at McDonald's? How would she
behave in this situation? Why would she choose this restaurant?
Your exercise is to write a scene where your character is ordering food at a restaurant. The type of restaurant is of your choosing. Wherever possible, include sensory details such as lighting, sounds, smells, etc. Include the details about the surroundings. Use dialogue if applicable. Most of all...have fun with it! |
