Fun With Dialogue
We dont normally do fan fiction type writing in the workshop, but I thought wed try something along those lines this time. Something for fun. Think of a favorite book, story, TV show, or movie. If youre using a book or story, choose a scene. List your cast of characters. Include yourself. You may use your real name or invent a new persona. You may become whomever you want. Now rewrite the scene and put yourself in it. Interrupt the conversation. Write a dialogue exchange between you and the characters. Anything can happen. For instance, you can put yourself in Gone With the Wind. You walk into the library where Scarlett meets Rhett for the first time. What is your relationship to Rhett or Scarlett? What do you say? What do you do? Anything can happen. Have fun with it and let your imagination run with it.
