My stance on the environment
I think protecting the environment is a big priority.  We need to pass pollution laws and offer tax incentives to industries for reducing their pollution.  We need to revamp public transportation to make it a viable alternative to commuting to work.  I also support the Kyoto Protocol and have worked in Congress towards having the US become a member.

I am a member of the Environmental Rights caucus and wrote this asking for their endorsement, "Let me tell you a little bit about why I think I deserve the caucus's endorsement.  I am a strong supporter of environmental rights.  I support increased regulations to help protect the environment and the people.  I support the signing and ratification of the Kyoto Protocol.  I have written an editorial about the Protocol and plan to, at the beginning of next session, introduce a bill that would mandate US companies follow the Protocol, should Yoshida refuse to sign it.

Ohio's EPA is one of the most corrupt in the Union.  I would seek to remedy that.  I would issue an order preventing members of the EPA from receiving money from big businesses and would hire a commission to ensure that our EPA is doing its job rather than receiving hand-outs.  Anyone who was working for big business rather than the state and the environment would be fired and prosecuted."
