Would you like to expand your vocabulary? Click on the Cool Word link to see the "Cool" word of the day. Then click on the Definition button to study and memorize the meaning. In addition, you can submit any cool word you know to the site.
Vocabulary Puzzles & Stories
Who said vocabulary building had to be boring? Click on the Vocabulary Puzzles link for a refreshing new way to learn and study vocabulary root words. The link will open to a cartoon of the Sam Mantics character and you will need to scroll down slightly until you see the Directions link. Click on the directions link to read the instructions. After reading the directions you can, click on the Back button and start on the first puzzle. The site consist of three challenging root word puzzles. You will be provided three hints: the number of letters, the part of speech, & the definition. There is also a Word Bank under each puzzle that can be of help. To view the answers you can scroll all the way down and click on the Submit Query button. You can also write a vocabulary story containing 12 of the words featured in the puzzles and submit it.
