The Kurhaus/Casino
Kurhaus/Casino/Kaefer's
Here you see my old office to the right. I worked in the second floor in the back for a year as private secretary of the Kurdirector. The Kurdirector is in charge of the parks, tourism, rehabilitation hospitals (Wiesbaden has two), city swimmingpools and spa, streetplanning and a lot more. He is sort of the 2nd Mayor of the town.

To the left of the columns is the world-famous Brasserie Kaefer's. Here you can enjoy in- or outdoors a fine selection of 5-Star-Specialties with a glass of Champagne. Tip: A beautiful (and affordable) Biergarten is located behind the Kurhaus, where you can enjoy a cool glass of beer or soda with snacks. On Sundays they have a Jazz-Concert here.

If you go inside towards the back left side, you will find the entry to the famous Casino. The Casino is not at all like the American Casino's. Here you can play in an elegant atmosphere Roulette and Black Jack. If you have ever read Dostojewski's "The Player", you will not be surprised to know that Dostojewski got inspired to write his novel in the Wiesbaden Casino. The Roulette-Table itself is still in the beautiful room - of course nobody plays on this one anymore. For Gentlemen: Jacket and tie is required.
Casino
The story of the Wiesbaden Casino begins at the end of the 18th century. It appealed to crowned heads of state, musicians and literati alike: Otto von Bismarck and already mentioned Feodor Dostoyevsky were among the many who gambled away their royalties here. Dutch writer "Multatuli" (Eduard Douwes Dekker), Richard Wagner and Elvis Presley all tried their luck in Wiesbaden. Of course I tried it too, but no luck in gambling for yours truely.
Kurhaus Event
The Wiesbaden Kurhaus is one of top European centers for exhibitions, workshops, seminars and events. This unique and elegant venue combines an over 230 year old landmark historic building with state-of-the-art technology, diverse halls and rooms, as well as full organizational and catering service.

I always enjoyed bringing my Incentive-Groups here, as the Kurhaus-Staff are really professionals.
