The Reality about Germans - Part 2
The German craftsmanship is very good, but if you have a problem, the help and service you get are often very bad. Local Merchants view their customers obviously as the enemy in the worst case or a nuisance in the lesser case. What? You want your purchase gift wrapped?! How could you imagine this! That is way below the dignity of the Store employee. He will send you in the cellar or under the roof of the building, where in a dark little room an overworked little Lady tries to wrap gifts for all the 30 people who stand in line. (O.K. I am embellishing a bit, perhaps 25 people are standing in line.) And of course, you have to pay for this service...

During my work in Germany in several branches I ran into just as much lazy Germans as hard working ones, clean and tidy people (extreme: Bankers and Moms) just as chaotic and sloppy ones (extreme: Artists and kids). I rather think it is a human left-brain / right-brain good excuse kids, isnt it?
