A long time in the making, we are finally up and running.
Look for the June message below
Welcome to St. Mary's Middle School Science Message and Homework Page.
Hi!  I'm Mr. St. Hedley and I have been teaching at St. Mary's since February this year.  I have to admit it is one of the best experiences of my time as a teacher.  I am a former middle school science teacher from the Taconic Hills School District, about 20 miles south of Chatham, NY.  I retired from there last July after 22 years but I couldn't stay away from the game.  Prior to that I ran the 4H Program for Cornell Cooperative Extension in Greene County.
I must say you parents have sent us some very fine children to work with and I hope to do just that for a number of years to come.

You may at times be concerned when your child seems to have little science homework, but please understand that one assignment can lead into one and sometimes two weeks of class work and lab activities.

Today we will start a practice State Middle School Science Test.  This will continue through the week.

June...It finally arrived...and it started out for our eighth graders with a wonderful communion breakfast this past Sunday, organized and served by several seventh grade students and their families. Congratulations to all of you and your families.

Just a few more weeks left but in some ways they are hardest.  Eight graders still have that State Science test on the 15th.  The rest of the middle schoolers are getting ready for their finals which will be given on June 13, 14, and 15.  We will be reviewing most of this week but 5th and 6th grade still have one more chapter test to go.

Then its good by to the eighth grade from faculty and friends...and field day and field trips for the rest.

I expect to be around the school quite often this summer if you want to drop in, and please always feel free to drop me an email.

Until next September...Have a great Summer.
