The strange dream rant

Today was a very strange day. I had the strangest dream. It was very bizarre.  I normally don’t really remember my dreams at all. But this was different, I slept over four hours this afternoon and woke up terrified. I woke up to automatically check to see if I was all right. And I was convinced that I wasn’t. In every case that I can remember I forget the dream nearly right after I wake up but in this case I remember every detail almost twelve hours after it happened. I remember the colors, the faces, and the places and the more I think about it the worse it is. I’ve never felt that kind of unreasonable terror in my life it and it was horrible. I have almost no way to describe that feeling. The dream itself was pretty ridiculous, and it’s almost not worth to mentioning. It was a bizarre combination of Star Wars and Planet of the Apes. Basically what happened was the Apes had taken over part of the desert. And I was the member of some kind of Jedi Knight army unit. So when the Apes attacked I was one of the first on the scene to defend against them. I remember in that first fight being terrified when going up against the leader of the Apes. And it was real terror not kind of scared you normally get during a dream. I woke up looking to check my arms and legs from where I’d been injured in that fight. I was really surprised to find out that I was okay, looking for the cuts and bruises that I expected to find on my forearms and legs.  This dream threw my entire day off, I certainly did not want to sleep the entire day through and I certainly did not want to stay up all night because I was afraid to go back to sleep again. And make no mistake about it I am afraid to go to sleep. It kind of reminds me to the episode of Star Trek the Next Generation, titled “Night Terrors”. In that episode no one can get any sleep because they were unable to dream. And because of that, no one got any REM sleep on board the ship.  Rapid Eye Movement sleep is what allows us to dream and keeps us from going insane. Without it we become unable to function.  Long story short Data doesn't need to sleep and is able to save the ship by doing some Star Trek thing. And I wonder how long I can hold out without going to sleep. Let me tell you, as terrified as I was of that dream, I don’t think I’ll be sleeping anytime soon.
