·
Designed and implemented ABAP RFC IDOC creating and posting functions
for use with a Gentran mapper and an EDI subsystem. SAP IDOC types (X.12 document): INVOIC01 (810), DELFOR01 (830),
ORDERS04 (850), DELIVRY02 (856), (ALE,
RFC)
·
Created GenTran
mapping instruction documents. These
documents were to be used by Gentran mapper to map the X.12 EDI document to its
SAP message type counterpart.
· Configured
workflow to handle notification of ALE posting errors
· Created
gap analysis documents to determine the difference between the legacy EDI
systems and the proposed SAP EDI solution.
These reports required large amounts of information gathering as to
ascertain the state of the current EDI solution. It also required an in depth knowledge of the proposed SAP
solution (SD, FI, EDI)
· Developed
SAP dialog transactions to maintain Federal Excise Tax information. These
transactions interacted with custom tables and table extensions to implement
federal taxation based on tire weights. (FI, MM)
· Coded
user-exits to bring outbound IDOCs into compliance with ANSI X.12 standards.
These included advanced shipment notices and invoices (ALE, EDI)
· Created
BDC programs to automatically backflush completed tires against the repetitive
production schedule. This program
generated goods movement documents to keep stock levels in sync (PP, MM)

· Led team
of developers through design, development and implementation cycles of project.
The two-year project started with functional requirements gathering with end
users and ended with successful training of super users and included every step
of project management in between.
·
Designed and implemented software system using a Lotus Notes user
interface to pass queued document changes to Microsoft SQL Server utilizing
third-party interfacing software as the transport mechanism. Changes entered in the Lotus Notes system
were buffered, queued and sent via batch to translation engine. Each school system had separate instances of
the database, but used a custom developed messaging system to integrate the
systems.
· Designed
and created secure Lotus Notes form databases that met state government
standards for tracking student information.
The data tracked the needs and requirements of special needs students.
· Assisted
in Lotus Domino installation and administration tasks
· Designed,
developed, and implemented a multi-tiered Visual Basic application to maintain
data with a Microsoft SQL Server backend.
The application had the ability to attach to different instances of the
database to facilitate school system segregation.
·
Created XML-based
custom EDI system for transferring data between multiple system instances to
facilitate school system integration.

·
Redesigned Lotus
Notes databases to improve system performance and ease of use
·
Created Lotus Notes
databases to interface with SAP for partner profile generation and ALE customer
distribution model modification. The
system assisted in the maintenance of the ALE distribution models for a 12-system
landscape. (ALE)
·
Created a Visio-based
SAP ALE customer distribution model viewer. This application downloaded the ALE
distribution model and created a graphical representation of the model in a
Visio drawing. This drawing could be
used to validate the model to ensure the model was accurate. (ALE)
·
Created system to
maintain partner profiles across the entire SAP ALE landscape. This ABAP program logged into each SAP
system and caused the automatic generation of the partner profiles. (ALE)
·
Set-up and maintained
a variety of ALE scenarios for the following application areas: FI/CO, PP, and
MM. Also maintained partner profiles,
RFC destinations and ports. Monitored
the RFC transactional buffer to ensure that ALE documents were processing
correctly.
·
Wrote an IDOC status
viewer in ABAP to concurrently query multiple SAP systems; similar to SAP
transaction WE05. This program was used
to check for posting errors during the distribution of master data from the
master data repository SAP system. (ABAP/4, ALE)
·
Ported multi-system
IDOC status viewer to html-based intranet site. A third-party connector was
used by an active server page (ASP) to call a custom RFC that returned IDOC
status information for a variety of SAP systems. (ABAP/4, ALE)
