Embrace of Death
Lying on an abandoned field, staring at the red sky of twilight. Darkness creeping in at the edges of my vision. Replaying the battle in my mind. I see the leading edge of their army. I knew my troops were outnumbered. Our group was a mere thousand strong, going up against tens of thousands. We had mostly cavalry and foot soldiers, and a hundred and fifty dragon riders. Their dragons filled the sky as far as I could see. Within the hour their ranks were cut in half, though we had suffered almost as bad. I rode my nightmare into the orgy of metal and blood. Chopping down enemies with my great sword. A pile of mangled bodies lie around me. Before long we were completely overwhelmed. Our dragon riders were dead or fleeing, foot soldiers and cavalry scattered. The battle had turned into a full rout. My mount lost in the frenzy death. Covered in blood and gore, my black armor hanging off my body. Then I felt it, the blow that would cause my death. A sword buried to the hilt in my back. It shredded my insides as it passed through my stomach. Three inches of blade fight past bone and organ to shoot out the other side. Those images burn themselves into my mind, as I wait for the embrace of death. |

Voices Of The Insane
Sanity slipping as pain rips at my heart Confusion grips my mind, too many voices inside I see things that arent real Demons with great wings of leather Their teeth tear my body to pieces Talons clawing at my tortured flesh Trying to scream, but my lungs lie uselessly at my side My last sight of this world is a gore filled mouth A different voice in my mind and another nightmarish land Still its the same dream Trapped within a prison of thought, wondering what I am Then a voice of clarity pushes through Showing me the path to the truth, and to death No, not death, but life A new world, waiting just for me Not one filled with demons wanting to destroy me The voices are gone, only my own remaining to create my world |
