Road Trip- August 2006
In August I headed to Missouri to take part in a wedding. While the drive out was nothing special, I made a bunch of stops in Ohio since prior experience had shown it was a boring state to just cruise through.
Hannibal, MO, home of Mark Twain.
Before becoming a writer, Samuel Clemmens (Mark Twain) was the captain of a steamboat on the Mississippi River. He took his writing name from a nautical term used to indicate the depth to the river bottom.
The happy couple, James and Mary Dean. Obviously this photo was not taken at the wedding but a few weeks later at the Shenandoah 100.
A few friends met the couple at Cedar Point. This was the first stop on my trip back to Virginia after the wedding.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland,Ohio. It reminded me of an oversized Hard Rock Cafe without the food.
Just down the road from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Since it was just off the highway I stopped enroute to the BB King concert the next day.
After the BB King concert there was one more stop, my first NFL game at Heinz Field.
The Steelers scored on their first drive but lost to the Vikings 17-10.
