Game Summary
Game P1: 8-August SWG vs. CST
Result: Loss 4-3
A heart-breaking loss for the guys tonight as they lose in the 1st round of the
playoffs in overtime to the Swingers 4-3. The team played extremely well tonight,
maybe the best team game this season, but the boys came up a little short surrendering
the winning goal with 6 seconds left in overtime. The turning point of the game came
when CST failed to score with a 2-man advantage in the 2nd half. The guys went on
to dominate late in the game and for most of OT, but an unlucky bounce and an
offensive zone turnover gave way to the winning goal. Despite an early end to
the team's season, the guys worked really hard tonight and worked together more
than they did in the regular season. The 2002 season saw Benson Hsieh establish
himself as a leading goalie in this league, the emergence of Mike Chan as he
truly anchored the defense this year, and Stefan Piechocki reaffirm his position as
a prolific scorer in Tier 2. I want to thank the guys for coming out all season and
playing hard for their team. I look forward to the return of Counter-Strike in 2003.
