The History of the C. S. Ram Albemarle Chapter
On September 30, 2004, the C. S. Ram Albemarle Chapter #291 held its first meeting and Charter Banquet at the historic Latham House, home of Joe and Sue Pate, in Plymouth, North Carolina. The Chapter, named after one of the Confederacy's most successful ironclad ships, had been in the planning stages for over two years by Past Commander General Albert Jones, Jr and Harry Thompson. Charter members were: Past Commander General Albert Jones, Jr. (Interim Chapter Commander), Walter White (Interim Adjutant), Harry Thompson, Bob Grimes, Peter Rascoe, Edward Harding, Philip Morris, Richard VanDorn, Robert G. Elliot, Robert G. Wilson and Chris Grimes. Guests in attendence included: Commander General Dan Jones, NC Society Commander Bob Jones, Assitant Adjutant General George Valsame and NC Society Chief of Staff Charles Hawkes.

While our Chapter calls Plymouth, North Carolina our home port, we visit other area historic locales including Edenton, Windsor and Williamston. Meetings are held quarterly starting at 6:30 pm during the months of April, July, October and December.
