BASIC INFORMATION PAGE
Cost of Scouting:
The cost of scouting is paid by two basic sources: (1) the annual dues paid by the scout; and (2) Pack-level fundraisers.

The Pack-level fundraisers consist of two events: (1) the sale of popcorn, the traditional Boy Scout fundraiser; and (2) the sale of Scout Show tickets. Other Pack-level fundraisers may be held if insufficient funds are gathered through the two primary fundraisers.

Scouting Organization:
Scouting is organized in successively larger groups.

The smallest unit is the Den, which meets approximately once per week. The Den is lead by an Adult Leader called the Den Leader and one or more Assistant Den Leaders.

The Dens gather on a monthly basis to form the Pack, lead by the Cubmaster and one or more Assistant Cubmasters. The Cubmaster is assisted by the Pack Committee that plans, budgets, and runs the Pack.

Our Pack, and the other local Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops, form the District. Our district is called the Valley District.

A group of districts form an area council, the Denver Area Council.

For the Tiger Cub Scouts, the uniform consists of an orange Tiger Cub neckerchief, worn with the Cub Scout blue shirt and an orange and blue Tiger Cub hat, and an optional blue web belt with the Tiger Cub emblem buckle.

For the Wolf Cub Scouts, the uniform consists of a blue shirt, a yellow neckerchief with the Wolf emblem and the Cub Scout emblem slide, a blue and yellow Cub Scout hat, and an optional blue web belt with the Cub Scout emblem buckle.

For the Bear Cub Scouts, the uniform consists of a blue shirt, a blue neckerchief with the Bear emblem and the Cub Scout emblem slide, a blue and light blue Cub Scout hat, and an optional blue web belt with the Cub Scout emblem buckle.

As part of the Pack graduation at the end of each school year, the PACK awards the Cub Scout with the handbook and the neckerchief for the new rank.

The uniforms can be purchased at the Scout Shop, located next to the Denver Area Council office. Check out the Denver Area Council link off the Links Page.

Volunteers:
Cub Scouting is an all volunteer program, both the Adult Leaders and the parent volunteers. In fact, without these volunteers, there wouldn't be a Cub Scout program.

If you have a skill, or time to help, please volunteer to help with one of our events. The help you provide could be in the form of making phone calls to ensure attendance, setup before or clean-up after the event, obtaining supplies, or just helping to keep the event moving smoothly. Therefore, please contact one of the Pack Leaders to volunteer.
