The Akkadian Settlers

This was one of Akkadian's statue in early civilizations. The Akkadians came into the Fertile Crescent and they overthrew the Summerians. They had "war-like philosophies, adopting their basic social and political structure, but decreasing the emphasis on traditions of the city-state." The Akkadians had a very powerful army that was used to rule. They decorated the walled cities to declare the power of the Kings. The Akkadians were not like the Summerians because the Akkadians didn't believe in Summerians' religion. Their beliefs were the powerful military was their God. There was no Priest to govern the city-state. According to Bejcek, "The Akkadians art took on a new direction; the personal glorification of the ruler, now conceived to be divine." The Akkadians didn't stay very long to be the powerful leaders in Mesopotamia.
