| The Carlsonics are rock music. Obvious and immediate comparisons include early-mid 60s punk; but closer examination reveals noisy, indie dissonance (SonicYouth, Pixies), big 60's rock hooks (The Kinks, The Who), and early 80's punk/new wave influences (Gang of Four, Gary Numan.) The band formed in 1999 after lead singer Aaron Carlson decided he needed a venue through which to perform his sick, 2-chord creation called �Done In.� The lineup soon became: Aaron (vocals), Ed (guitar), John (guitar), Mike (drums) and Nikki (bass.) The Carlsonics have played all sorts of show over the past few years, blanketing clubs, bars, and basements along the East, South and SouthWest. A large scale national tour is set to begin this summer/fall to support the release of the debut LP on Arena Rock Records. in early July. |
