Information about Nacora from Friends Andrea: The name of the town derives from the Spanish "nacio", which means "I am born".
USGS: The post office at Nacora was established April 22, 1892, and discontinued in 1945. Before the post office was established, the town was known as Simons Siding. It is/was located in the southwest part of Dakota County.
"1911 atlas of Dakota County": Necora is, or was, a very small town in Dakota County, not much more than a wide spot in the road. It was located about 7 miles southwest of Hubbard on Highway 35, about halfway to Emerson. ... to check census records ... look in Emerson Precinct. According to the 1911 atlas of Dakota County, in Necora there were a store and post office, a lumber yard, a saloon, a depot, an elevator, a blacksmith shop and a couple of residences. Family names listed in that section are Zastrow, Brown, Voss and Cawfield.
Nacora does not show up on on many current maps, including my "AAA" and "Rand McNally Road Atlas" maps, but it may be found on the DeLorme Atlas for Nebraska and at least two different Tripmakker CDs.
"Precision Mapping ver 2.0": Nacora (one could pick almost any vowel for the second letter), Nebraska is in Dakota County on SH 35 about 4.5 miles northeast of Emerson. ... Alternate routes to Nacora from Emerson NE
- go 3.5 miles east (on local road?)
- go 3 miles north to SH 35
- go 1 mile north on SH 9,
- turn right on SH 35,
- go 1.5 miles northeast to stream, and
- go 1.4 miles northeast to point where A intersects SH 35.
