The Corn Show

To Be Held November 10, 1914

[This item has been reprinted in more detail in Magnet's "Centennial History Book", page 11.]
... It is the intention of the [Commercial] Club to have the farmers hereabout bring exhibits of corn, wheat, oats and potatoes, which will be judged by a competent man from the State School of Agriculture. ...
The corn show will be held in the Anderson building just east of the post office. ...
In the evening ... illustrated lecture entitled "The Dawn of Plenty," which will be given in the M. E. church. ... consists of three reels of moving pictures with some slides, together with the lecture, ...

Mrs. A. J. Erickson was in Randolph Monday.

George Jones left this noon for a trip to Hay Springs.

J. H. Baker was down from Bloomfield Saturday.

Mrs. Pete Anderson was an Omaha passenger today.

Avery Baker and Emmet Cox were in Bloomfield Saturday.

Carl Jones and family of near Bloomfield spent Sunday here.

W. E. Delozier and wife and daughter, Addie, were in Wausa Saturday.

Those who paid the printer this week are: B. D. Mayden, and Wm. Coop.

A. E. Mainquist was in Randolph Monday having some dental work done.

Fred Randall and John Everist were up from Randolph in an auto Tuesday.

John Beaudett and family made an auto trip to Boyd county and spent Sunday.

Fred Cadwallader came up from Winside and is visiting at the Dick Waddell home.

V. Williams and wife of Carroll visited the latter's brother. A. R. Bigelow, Sunday.

The editors enjoyed some fine tomatoes Monday evening. Sent in by Doc Delozier.

John Buol of Long Beach, California, and H. H. Hamblin were up from Randolph Wednesday.

Jack Buchanan and Richard Jones went to Center Monday after some cattle for G. N. Jorgensen.

Wendel Boughn and Sherman Everist of Randolph were in town Sunday enroute to Wausa.

Word received by relatives here says that Mrs. Peck Martin is improving and will soon be able to return to her home at Wausa.

R. L. Clark and family and F. P. Clark and wife of Royal visited at the editors home over Sunday. They made the trip in the former's auto.
