Anton Webber, one of our prosperous farmers, took the noon train here Saturday for the home of his boyhood days, across the great Atlantic to the "Dichterlund". Mr. Webber came to this country 27 years ago when he was a mere youth and has helped, during that time, to make our country one of the best in the world.

Bagley-Renard Co. (O. S. Swanson, Mgr.) have sold their lumber yards at Carroll, Sholes, Randolph and Magnet to the Smith Hoverson Lumber Co. of Sioux City. We have not learned the particulars or when the change will take place.

Jimmy Isrelson of Hartington, visited with his sister Mrs. T. W. Driver the first of the week.

Theo Couture was a business visitor at Newcastle the first of the week.

Julius Zecker, who has been staying at the Elkhorn ranch for the past year took the early train Wednesday for his home in Illinoise.

Married - Miss Sadie Mayden and Mr. Joseph Gunzenhauser were married at Wayne Tuesday, by Rev. Wm Gorst of the M. E. Church of that place. Mr. Gunzenhauser is a stranger so ... Mrs. Gunzenhauser is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Mayden who are well and favorably known in this vicinity ... Mr. and Mrs. Gunzenhauser took the early train Wednesday morning for Arkansas to spend Christmas with Mr. Gunzenhauser's friends. Mr. and Mrs. Mayden accompanied them to Wayne.

HENKEL + GULP

Mrs. Emma Gulp, of Omaha and Mr. John H. Henkel, of Magnet, were married at Omaha Sunday. Mrs. Gulp was a housekeeper for Mr. Henkel for some weeks previous to their marriage. Mr. Henkel has lived in this town for a number of years and is well and favorably known. They returned to their home here Tuesday evening. We join with the many friends of Mr. Henkel in extending congratulations to the happy couple.
