Mr. and Mrs. Luther Bolin of McLean took their baby to Sioux City for an opperation* for appendicitis ... the baby is about 14 months old. The Mrs. Bolin is a sister of Jack Buchanan's of our town.

Elmer Preston drove Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Preston over to McLean Tuesday morning where they took the Burlington for Lincoln to resume their school work.
A little baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. L. Andrews Friday morning, December 30th, 1910, but the life of the lit[t]le one was of short duration, it passed away to the great giver of life six hours after its birth. The little remains were laid to rest in the family lot in Magnet Cemetery Saturday morning. ... b. December 30, 1910Albert Miller will preach at the Christian church ... Albert is a young man about 18 years old, has been Evangelist Stine's singer for 3 years, plays the Cornet, come out and hear him.

DIED - Little Mel, the two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Furness Thursday February 2, 1911. of Poliomyelitis. The little one was sick only about seven hours, the disease was very severe and nothing that medical skill or loving and tender hands had any tendency to alleviate the suffering of the afflicted one and to make the burden of the mother harder to bear Mr. Furness was away at Omaha on business not knowing that the little one was even sick but on his return home in the evening he found that his little boy had passed away. After a short service at the house little Mel was laid to rest in the Magnet Cemetery. The MAIL extends sympathy to the bereaved ones. b. late 1908 to early 1909d. February 2, 1911Saturday afternoon the $4 000 home of H. J. Billerbeck, of Osmond was almost entirely destroyed by fire caused by a defective flue.

Hans Nelsen has rented the farm to Fred Beck for the coming season. Mr. and Mrs. Nelsen are going to take a much needed rest, they will visit with friends in California and may possibly visit their old home in Denmark. Mrs. Nelsen is in very poor health and it is hoped she will be greatly benefited by the change. They will have a public sale at the old farm on the 24, inst.

John Aten died Sunday, Feb. 1st at his home in Aten. He came to Nebraska in 1865 while it was yet a territory and was well known by all the old settlers. W. C. Gorton received a Telegram, from friends at Manhattan, Mont, announcing the very serious illness of his daughter at that place. Mr. Gorton is awaiting further developments of the case before he responds to the summons.

Mrs. Evans returned to her home, at Carroll, Monday after a weeks visit with two sons east of here.
