The Command Sergeant Major was born August 30, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He entered into active duty 8 May 1958 and was assigned to Basic Training in Company D 1/50th Infantry. Further assignment to the US Army Medical Corps.
In the 30 years of active duty there was a variety of assignments From Litterbearer to Medical Corps Branch Sergeant Major.
Service during tenure was as a Admission and Disposition Clerk, Ward Attendant, Ambulance Driver, Troop Aidman, Emergency Room Technician, Medical Clinic Supervisor, Medical Advisor, Medical Liaision, Wardmaster, Training and Operations Sergeant, Security Sergeant, Flight Platoon Sergeant, Detachment Sergeant, First Sergeant, Reserve and National Guard Advisor, Troop Command Sergeant Major, and Medical Center Command Sergeant Major.
A Graduate of Class 17 of the United States Command Sergeants Major Academy. Awarded 3 Bronze Stars, 3 Meritorious Service Medals, 7 Air Medals, 2 Air Medals for Valor, 3 Army Commendation Medals and 2 Army Achievement Medals. Authorized to wear 10 Oversea Combat Bars.
Other medals, ribbons and badges include, The Technical Service Ribbon and the Vietnam Service Medal with 12 Campaign stars, Unit Citation and Medals, The VietNam Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Meritorious Unit Citation. Upon retirement, from over 30 years of Distinquished Service, presentation was made of, one of our nations highest peacetime awards, the Legion of Merit.
