| Friday, June 4, 1999 - After some final souvenir gifts and gas, we check out the lower terraces of Mammoth, then take a final drive in the park. First we climb back up to Willow Park, but again no moose. Then we head east again, and eat one more car picnic while we look for the wolf at the same turnout, but no wolf. | |

We continue on to Tower for one last taste of Moose Tracks ice cream. We are ready to head home when Carol notices some people at the edge of the parking lot with cameras and scopes. Low and behold, there's a MOOSE just standing there munching some lunch. They're not supposed to be at the Tower Hamilton Store, but we guess this young one didn't read the guidebooks! |
| One last stop to take some scenic photos and we head back to Mammoth. The valley toward Gardiner takes our breath away, as does the drive down Paradise Valley to Livingston, MT. We stop at Frontier Pies in Bozeman for a yummy dinner of chicken-fried steak and chicken pot pie, and head to the airport. We take our last photo in the empty Bozeman airport and prepare for a long ride home on the "red-eye". | |
