On July 4, 2001, Mawaddah, SMKBG's nasyid [ religious songs ] group took part in the Nasyid Festival 2001 at Sekolah Menengah Teknik Satu, Kuantan.

Mawaddah had practised everyday for a few weeks before the competition, under the watchful eyes of their coaches and advisors.

Mawaddah was placed sixth [ out of the 20 schools that took part ] in the competition.
