Saturday  8 am.
National registry Practical skills examination.

Station 1.
Bleeding Wounds and Shock, Traction splinting.

I forgot to apply Oxygen on Bleeding wounds and shock.
I attribute this to Nerves. I thought that this would be the best way to lead off but nerves got me any way.
This is a critical point and I had to repeat this station.
I passed it on the re-test.

Traction Splinting... passed it without any difficulty.

Station 2.
K.E.D.

Nerves are suitably in check.
I passed this station without difficuty
and feel a rhythm developing.
( good! )

Station 3.
I.V and I.V. Meds.

This was the station I found to be the easiest.
It is a mainstay of our experience and training
(The Rhythm is an uptempo Buffet type of thing...)

Station 4.
Patient Assessment.

No one in any class that I have had
was harder on you if you failed this station than
Virginia Reidy, Her class Will pass this station!

This is our most important skill
if you can't assess the patients problem
you can't treat the patient.

Station 5.
Airway Management.

Duh.
Nothing has changed since EMT-B
this station is the same as it ever was.
I am cruising right along.

Station 6.
Cardiology-Static/Dynamic

O.K.

Dynamic Cardiology

This is Megacode.
No big deal you just Do it,
Provide a narrative for your actions
and you can't fail!

Static Cardiology...
That's another story
You are presented Four scenarios with ecg strips
and you must Verbalize your course of treatment
without any feedback.
oh by the way you have six minutes.
This is silly
If you were to simply read the algorhythms
for four scenarios it takes longer than six minutes.

Needless to say I blew it but I still think I didn't.

I don't know how i failed it they wouldn't divulge my errors.
Sounds like a bias to me but oh well.
I passed it on the re-test.

So there it is in a Nutshell
I Passed the Practical Skills Test.
Pending the results of the
Written Examination

I am a Paramedic.

That really sounds good to say.
I hope I passed.

Big Envelope, Big Envelope, Big Envelope
this is my
Hope, Hope, Hope
if I get a small one I will feel like a
Big Dope, Big Dope,  Big Dope
if any one knows his number
please give a call to the

ask him to pray for the speedy delivery of
of my Very important
Great Big Envelope.

And now we drink.
A-lot
Probably Too much.
