Quick Respond to Berea....

So theres a nursing home in berea,
Which cares for patients who are on ventilators.
One of these patients was experiencing a change in mental status and needed transport to a hospital.

Cool.
Southwest general hospital is about one mile
from this nursing home and
this is where this patient should have been transported
by the local E.M.S. providers.
But Southwest was not accepting patients.
The pt's second choice hospital is E.M.H.
which is not an unreasonable transport option.

Now here's where I come in and the story gets agrivating.

If this was a nursing home that
we held the contract for
and E.M.H. were diverting
we would transport this pt to the next hospital on the list.
That is our job.

The local E.M.S. provider in this case
was a private company
and they refused to take the transport.

I am sure that Lifecare would never do this
to any of it's nursing home contracts
It's just bad bussiness.

In any case Carl was a bitter little human
over the fact that this trip was happening.

First: as I said
This should have been a call for some other ambulance service.

Second:  The timing
This Call came in around twenty after twelve
(the night truck comes on at twelve thirty)
(Mike said this could not wait; But we were to respond code one...?)

Third: I was Sleeping!
My Bitterness is never more evident than when I just wake up.
This is when I am
RAW
I was blurting out funny stuff and explitaves left and right
which included a dialogue with Mike on the M.D.T.
which I would love to re-count for you but I would end up in trouble!

After that,we returned to the City Next up.
we did another call and fell minutes short of an all Nighter
which is dissapointing but You know how that goes...

Good Night
