Happy Easter.

I walk in to the station to see a lrage Mural on the Door to the crew quarters...
Emploring
The Crews are sleeping...Please Don't wake us up.

And I remember..
That Last night was the Behner Bash II

and when the Drunk's got back from the Titty bar last time
they woke everybody up!
They were just as drunk this time but they didn't wake anybody.
(when I say just as drunk I don't necessarily mean that every one was very drunk)
(because those that were sober were just as sober as last time...)

The Drawing I made of Bildo
had become a three scene cartoon!

The adventures of Bildo
der Uber EMT

Bildo is a cross between
A Vibrating sex toy , Hitler and Hodge...

which leads me to say that:
Hodge actually resembles
Adolf Hitler
( I am serious...)
(I am not trying to be mean or crude.)
So therefore:
So does Bildo

Once again We are on our way out the door
on a call that will take us to
Saint John and West Shore Hospital.

I haven't actually been keeping track
but I can't remember not being to this hospital
during a shift in a long while.
Usually in the first three hours of the shift.

This is not usually a bad thing.
This hospital still has food and beverages
available for EMS providers in the "EMS Room"

The hospitals here in Lorain county had this
up untill a year ago
then it mysteriously disappeared.
Somehow someone got the idea that we
(EMS providers)
make transport decisions based on who has doughnuts...
As opposed to which facility is the closest appropriate facility.
Bullshit!

But Today SJWS has no food.
Damn.!

If I had known that I would have taken the Pt. to Elyria...
Just Kidding !

After we returned to Elyria
we were sent out of town on another transport

This time to the Cleveland Clinic.
It was an un-eventful trip
We were back in town just in time for an emergency call.

We were dispatched to the residence of an 86 year old woman.
She was being visited by her son for easter and when he arrived at her home he was unable to get in because the door was locked with a Chain lock.
She was not answering their calls.
So they called 911.

When we arrived on scene
we could not break the chain
but we could see her sitting on the couch,
she did not look good.
So my partner and I decided to enter,

But How?
There was enough space made
by pulling the door at the bottom
for me to crawn through,
So I did.
As I was part way through
there was a pop,
I saw Glass Falling all around me.

The window in the door had broken !

No matter,
I was in and I unlocked the door.
Ken and I were starting to help the pt.
That was when I first noticed that I was bleeding.

The blood brought the Pain to my attention.
It was more of a burning sensation
that begged me to touch it.
But I didn't.
I knew that would probably make it worse.
so I just continued to work.
As we were moving the patient
to the Monkey Bus
I was told twelve times that I was bleeding.

Thanks.
and
I know
were all I could say.

We transported the pt. code 3
and when we arrived to the hospital
Ken said "Sorry. Do you have
AFLAC ? "

Just then I realized that I did have
AFLAC
And at least I had some blood with
MY injury!

I got checked out in Med express
where they pulled a small piece of glass out of my scalp
(the burning sensation went away)
and gave me a tetanus shot.
(The tetanus shot  has been sore for two days and still  hurts)

Later we were dispatched to a "Full Arrest"
and we arrived on scene just after the fire department.

Now I have to ask...
Why would you enter the scene of a cardiac arrest
with nothing but a clip board?

Granted we were arriving there the same time as they were,
But still, a clip board?
and this patient was "DNR" So we did not work her.
But still, a clip board?
So lets say maybe they had advanced knowledge
that this was a"DNR"
Then why are you here?

Now I am not saying that they shouldn't be there....
But  still...

Sometimes it makes me wonder.
but hey
What is a life without Wonder?

Good Night
