How About That... it's my wife's Birthday and I am at work. go figure!
Why would I expect it to be any different than that. Aside from that this is also the start of a long week I will see three "A"'s before the week is done and when I am not at work I will be involved in School related activities... (in other words working for free in the name of education)
Today Started off as any other sunday The station is staffed with two trucks on sunday because of a theoretical assertion that it is the least busy day of the week. this is hit and miss I don't think any one can say which day of what week will be a slow day.
For the most part we were busy but not Busy ( if that makes any sence to you)
I had planned on making a nice meal for lunch and I did. but... I didn't get to eat it until dinner. Word to the wise... steamed mussels are best eaten while still hot. After I finished eating we were informed that Tony (from the night crew) Would not be joining us tonight but the only replacement they could find was an E.M.T.-B and 92 would be split up with the 93 crew and put into "regular" rotation
No big deal... Until there are multiple out of town trips that the Fresh 92 crew would usually be taking are handed to the next-up truck. Causing every one who had been on duty for twenty hours to be taking a long dark drive to Cleveland ( in the middle of the night.) or in my case at 6am. Not to return to Elyria until an hour into "B"shift
Which brings me to another point.
It has been customary in the past that when a truck is out on a run at shift change the remaining crew members would help them out by doing the chores of the crew still working.
This has not been the case lately (due to the lack of esprit de corps) and I have been just as guilty as the other crew but... There were 2 other people in the station from the 92 truck who should have been directed to do those chores by the remaining "A"shifters. I addressed this with brian and he agrees that this should be done in the future now that the shift will be "re-organized"
After returning from cleveland and doing my chores I headed home to sleep for a few days... But I only slept for a few hours before I had to head out to Sandusky for a Clinical...
Good Night.
