In like a Lamb out like a Lion.

Isn't that the truth!
We had an increase in  run volume today
the likes of which I havent seen in months!

Various types of calls...
most of which fell into the Emergency category.

92 was sent out of town on a transport to Columus.

93 fell into the viscious cycle of out of town trips.

Leaving the monkey bus
to do all of the other calls while they were gone.

This added up to having done more calls
than both 92&93 combined.

At one point in the night
I was wondering if anyone in Elyria
was not throwing up blood?

The most Challenging call of the Shift came in around 9 pm.

It was another "Throwing up blood call"

But this one was serious.

She wasn't throwing up blood

She was coughing ut up from her lungs and lots of it!

Prior to our arrival she had filled the bottom five inches of a waste basket with bright red blood.
She was extremely short of breath
and looked pale and greyish.

We hurried along to the bus where we continued to administer oxygen and began to start I.V.'s
when my partner began the first I.V.
he asked her if she had any "lung problems ?"
to which she replied "I had tuberculosis"

Which is not what you want to hear from someone in this condition beacuse it could translate into
"now you have tuberculosis,Like me! "
(She had it in 1969 and was not active but we didn't know that until later)
After this call Ken and I spent the next hour Decontaminating ourselves and the Monkey Bus.
( During this hour there were three other calls that we would have rather gone on but we couldn't do anything until we were Clean! )

We were able to get back in service intime to be next up when we went to bed.

Three hours later we were awakened to go on a call but were cancelled and went back to bed last up where I spent the rest of the night.
Sleeping and Dreaming of the test that was waiting for me at school in the morning.

Good Night.
