So here we are again... Lifecare Ambulance Elyria ohio

Just Like I left it...

C-shift said they had it easy and I believe them.

Sometime earlier in the week,
Ken worked with Jon.
( from the night truck )
During a transport Jon drew a "Monkey"
on the dry erase board in the Monkey Bus.
It is still there!
Ken and I have sort of adopted it as a mascot.
Jon is going to Re-draw it
and we are going to have stickers and or Patches made!

Herb Was amused...
(He has tentatively agreed to allow us to place one of the finished stickers on 91.)

This is the begining of my "Long Week"
Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday

Not that that matters much with my schedule
but it does affect my weekend plans.
(Because of work ...I have none)

I had intended to study this "A" and this did not happen
I am not really sure why but; You know how that goes...

It is probably worth while to mention at this point... That
I am writing this entry on the 17 th
and I am "Half in the bag" Courtesy of Rolling Rock

This week has been a blur !
I don't recall any significant events that effected me in any way.

Lately it has been a constant struggle
to keep focused on the task at hand.

I have spent considerable energy keeping myself amused,
( Usually at the expence of others. I am a mean guy sometimes)

One of my favorite targets... is Jeremy from B-shift.
That is kind of sad but he started it!

I have been Constantly Bugging Jeremy,
about his personal injury status and many
AFLAC claims.
He woefully tries to defend himself by insulting me...
This usually don't work
( I am very hard to insult or offend)
I have been quite successful at getting under his skin !
Many of my co workers have joined in the reindeer games.
but this is growing old...
As of now...
I am officially leaving his
AFLAC status alone.

He will find something else for me to bother him about!
He brings it on himself I promise.

Speaking of jeremy...
Here's a funny bit of information

This shift we had a call at the jail for a 25 year old male,
who injured his hand in a fight and was arrested...
Routine no big whoop!

The reason I was reminded of this is...
Because anytime I have a male patient around 25 years old
who was injured in an act of stupidity.
He can be expected to ask one question...

"Do you Know Jeremy? "

And this was no exception...

It was the first Question he asked me !

The first time I was asked this Question was...

By  a 24 year old Male
who Shot himself in the Thigh
He  was cleaning his pistol.
( While drinking beer at 9 am on a tuesday)

Another Time I was asked if I knew Jeremy was...

By a 26 year old male.
who was struck in the head with a large stone !
which was thrown from a passing pick-up truck!!
( No seriously...stop laughing it was a drive by stoning!)

As for the jeremy Issue I will leave it alone for now...

I Mentioned in an earlier entry
that I was starting another E.M.S. job
I have my first shift on monday...the 13th
I am looking forward to it,
the call volume is low but usually serious.
It is a "Basic" system which is underwhelming to say the least!

This will put me in charge of  more often.
Even if the pt. is very serious
(in an ALS system the Paramedic overrides the Basic or Intermediate E.M.T.)
Being in charge of Critical patients...
will give me the chance to develop a better sence of leadership
(because I have no pre-existing relationship with my new co-workers)
The lack of advanced techniques...
will force me to improvise and use critical thinking skills.

E.M.S. Without a Net!

Good night
