When I Drove to work this morning my mind was still polluted with the negativity. even though I had a great day working at E.T.F.D. Once again I was to work with Brian. (he would be a great partner for me if ken were to get out of E.M.S.) Ken is Still out sick. (dammit!) I hope he is getting better and is there next shift. Because If ken were here today I'm pretty sure that I would have been better able to turn my mood positive. (he has a way of doing that... I can't explain it it's a balance thing)
The day didn't start off badly at all. I was even able to sit down and enjoy breakfast at Burger King. Tammy was working With Jon (from the night truck) and it was Sunday. The day God has set aside For... Sleeping late, Eating big meals and Playing video games. (The latest Game to take Root at station one is Tony Hawk ProSkater for playstation.) (I fear we may be addicted...)
Surprisingly we did get to play quite a bit of it. That is what we do between calls and a small set of Technological Problems with our in Squad computer system. (which is a surprisingly rare occurence) But Have no fear... Herb and the computer guys' figured it out. Fixed it and BLAM!!! Back to work!
I would like to talk about one of my calls though... We had an 18 year old male who was "sick" when we get to his house he is in the bathroom because he has been having nausea and vomiting as well as diarrhea both with blood in it.. He looked quite pale and has a low blood pressure. Yes he's sick... Before we can leave he has to have another B.M. and it too has bright red blood present.
While I am asking him questions about when this started and if he had any medical history like this or if he had eaten anything unusual. his answers don't give me any clues...
I ask if he had engaged in anal sex (thinking of a possible perforation injury)
He answers... "No man...My girlfriend wont let me go there; She says it hurts..."
After that it was hard to be negative anymore..
For some unexplained reason the entire station was awake by 7 am. Crew Change was mostly benign...
The usual suspects doing the usual things.
Good night
